Skid steer loaders are versatile and widely used across construction, landscaping, and industrial environments — but they also present serious risks when not operated correctly.

 

COURSE DETAILS

  • Duration: Half-day (Practical Only – competent operators) to full-day (depending on operators and equipment – Theory and Practical Portion)
  • Format: Classroom + practical (where applicable)
  • Delivery: On-site at clients location

 

PRICING

Experienced Operators (3–4 Hours)

(Refresher / Experienced Users) (Practical Only)

1–3 Participants: $750 per session

4–5 Participants: $1,050 per session

6–8 Participants: $1,350 per session

 

New Operators (5–8 Hours)

(Theory + Practical)

1–3 Participants: $950 per session

4–5 Participants: $1,200 per session

6–8 Participants: $1,550 per session

DS Safety’s Skid Steer Training program is designed to ensure operators develop the knowledge, skills, and awareness required to safely operate equipment in real job site conditions.

This course focuses on practical application, helping operators understand not just how to use the equipment, but how to do so safely and confidently.

 

WHAT THIS TRAINING COVERS

Participants will gain a strong understanding of:

  • Equipment components and controls
  • Pre-use inspections and hazard checks
  • Safe start-up, operation, and shutdown procedures
  • Load handling and stability principles
  • Common hazards (tip-over, roll-over, struck-by, pinch points)
  • Working safely around people, structures, and other equipment
  • Job site awareness and safe positioning
  • Basic maintenance and operator responsibilities

 

HANDS-ON TRAINING

Participants will complete practical training that includes:

  • Equipment familiarization and pre-use inspections
  • Safe maneuvering and positioning
  • Real-time coaching and feedback from the instructor

This ensures operators leave with the competency to operate equipment safely — not just theoretical knowledge

 

CERTIFICATION & EVALUATION

Participants will:

  • Complete a knowledge assessment
  • Demonstrate practical competency 

Upon successful completion, participants will receive proof of training.
