DS Safety’s MEWP training program is designed to ensure operators have the knowledge, skills, and awareness to safely operate equipment while meeting current Canadian standards.

Our training is aligned with CSA B354.8:17 (R2022) and focuses on real-world application, not just theory.

WHAT THIS TRAINING COVERS

This program provides a comprehensive understanding of safe MEWP operation, including:

  • Types and classifications of MEWPs (scissor lifts, boom lifts, etc.)
  • Pre-use inspections and equipment checks
  • Safe setup and positioning
  • Fall protection requirements and anchor points
  • Hazard identification (tip-over, overhead hazards, electrical risks)
  • Safe operating procedures and limitations
  • Emergency procedures and rescue awareness

CERTIFICATION & EVALUATION

Participants will:

  • Complete a knowledge assessment
  • Demonstrate practical competency (if applicable)

Upon successful completion, participants will receive proof of training.

MEWP safety isn’t just about operating equipment — it’s about understanding the risks that come with it.
